The idea
A trading decision operates under uncertainty. Passing on a setup is an active choice when the evidence or execution conditions do not meet your rules. A repeatable routine can reduce the urge to trade merely because the screen is open. Confidence should reflect evidence and limits, not certainty about the next candle.
A worked example
A session with no qualifying setup can be a successful execution of the plan even when price later makes a large move.
Try it yourself
Record one skipped trade and the rule behind it. Review the rule rather than the missed hypothetical profit.
A mistake to avoid
Treating every market move as an opportunity you were obligated to capture.
