About Raphael

I trade one instrument and write about it every day. This page is who I am, how I work, what I refuse to do, and what I get wrong, so you can judge the writing before you rely on it.

Protect. Master. Grow.
PILLAR 01

Protect

Survival is the first job. Defined loss on every idea, position sizes small enough that a wrong opinion costs an ordinary day.

PILLAR 02

Master

Read the backdrop before the candle. Real rates, the dollar, official buying, session liquidity. Most of what looks random becomes legible.

PILLAR 03

Grow

Slowly, and as a consequence. Growth comes from being able to trade the good conditions because you survived the bad ones.

Who I Am

I'm Raphael. I run Black Gold Market, a gold channel built on one idea: protect your capital first, master your emotions second, and let growth be the slow result of both.

I am not an analyst at a bank and I do not sell a system. I am a trader who spends his days on one instrument, gold, and who writes down what he sees and why. Roughly 8,900 people read that writing on Telegram. Some trade alongside it, some just watch and learn the backdrop. Both are fine by me.

This page exists because you should know who is talking before you take anything they say seriously. So here is the honest version, including the parts that are less flattering than a marketing page would be.

How I Ended Up Doing This

I came to gold the ordinary way, which is to say the expensive way.

My first year was a study in doing everything backwards. I looked for entries before I understood context. I sized positions by how confident I felt rather than by what I could afford to lose. I treated a stop loss as an admission of doubt instead of the cost of doing business. When a trade went against me I looked for a reason it would come back, and often I found one, because you can always find one.

What changed things was not a better indicator. It was accepting that my problem was never analysis. It was that a single bad decision could undo a month of good ones, and nothing in my process prevented that. Once I fixed the size of my losses, the analysis started to matter. In that order, never the other way around.

That sequence is the whole reason this channel exists in the shape it does. Everything I write assumes you would rather be trading in two years than be right this afternoon.

What Black Gold Market Is

A free Telegram channel where I post daily analysis on gold: what the market looks like, which forces are in the driver's seat, and where risk changes. Alongside it, a journal of longer educational articles on this site, and an optional Kit for people who want the material organised in one place.

When I share an idea, I share three things together, and I do not separate them:

  • The level, the area on the chart that matters and why it matters.
  • The context, what the wider market is doing around that level, because the same level means different things on different days.
  • The risk, what would prove the idea wrong and what it costs to find out.

An idea without the third part is not an idea, it is a suggestion with the consequences removed. That is the part most channels leave off, and it is the part that decides whether you are still here next year.

What It Is Not

I would rather lose your interest now than mislead you for a month.

It is not a profit service. I do not promise returns, I do not publish win rates, and I do not post account screenshots. Any number I quoted about my own results would be unverifiable to you, and I am not interested in asking you to take that on faith.

It is not a place to copy blindly. If you follow an idea without understanding why it exists, you will not know what to do when it stops working, and it will stop working sometimes. The point of the channel is that you eventually need it less, which is the argument I make in how to stop depending on trading signals.

It is not financial advice. I do not know your circumstances, your capital or your obligations, and anyone giving personal financial advice to thousands of strangers at once is not doing it properly.

There is no urgency. No countdown timers, no closing doors, no "last chance." If something is worth joining, it is worth joining next week too.

The Method: Protect, Master, Grow

Three words in a deliberate order, because the order is the method.

Protect. Survival is the first job. That means position sizes small enough that a wrong opinion is an ordinary day, a defined loss on every idea, and the acceptance that execution can be worse than the screen suggests when conditions get loud. The practical version is in protecting your capital when gold gets volatile and position sizing so one trade cannot hurt you.

Master. Read the backdrop before the candle. Gold is pushed around by real interest rates, the dollar, official buying and how nervous the world is, and by which participants happen to be awake. Most of what looks random on a chart is legible once you know which force is in charge that month. That is why so much of the journal is macro rather than patterns.

Grow. Slowly, and as a consequence. Growth in this business comes from not going backwards, from being able to trade the good conditions because you survived the bad ones. It is unglamorous and it is the only version I have seen work.

I would rather teach you why a level matters than tell you what to do at it. One of those you keep after I stop posting.

How I Write, and What I Get Wrong

Everything on this site is written to be read once and understood, not to impress you with terminology. If I use a term, I define it. If something is a general tendency rather than a rule, I say so.

I also get things wrong regularly, and I say so when it happens. A level holds that I expected to break. A move goes further than the context suggested it should. That is not a flaw in the process, it is the process: you take positions on incomplete information and you size them so that being wrong is survivable. Any trader who is never wrong in public is editing.

What I try never to do is rewrite history. An idea that did not work stays where it was posted.

Who This Is For

People who have been trading long enough to be tired of noise. People who lost money doing what someone told them and would rather understand the reasoning next time. People who care more about being here in two years than about this week.

Who it is not for: anyone looking for guaranteed returns, anyone who wants to be told what to press without knowing why, and anyone trading money they cannot afford to lose. If that is you, the most useful thing I can say is: not yet.

The short version

Raphael, founder of Black Gold Market

Gold trader, writes daily analysis for roughly 8,900 traders on Telegram, and publishes the longer educational work in the journal on this site. Shares the level, the context, and the risk behind every idea, posts the ones that did not work, and promises no returns. Focused on the backdrop most channels skip: session liquidity, real rates, the dollar, central-bank demand, and the forces that actually move gold.

Risk disclaimer: Nothing on this page or anywhere on this site is financial advice, investment advice or a recommendation to trade. Trading gold, CFDs and other leveraged instruments carries a substantial risk of loss, and most retail traders lose money. No entry, stop or target discussed anywhere on this site should be treated as a signal. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose, and seek independent advice from a licensed professional if you need guidance specific to your situation.
