The idea
Common traps combine urgency, impersonation and requests for irreversible action. Verify destinations independently, be cautious with unsolicited links and never share recovery information. A small test transfer can check a route but does not establish that an investment or service is trustworthy.
A worked example
A fake giveaway may promise to return twice what you send. The ability to receive funds does not prove an intention to return them.
Try it yourself
Write a verification checklist for a mock transfer and identify which steps protect the address versus the counterparty risk.
A mistake to avoid
Treating a successful test withdrawal as a guarantee of future withdrawals or business legitimacy.
